Dear Ripley Valley Community,
As we move into the final weeks of Term 3, I’m proud to share some exciting achievements and upcoming events that highlight the incredible talent and dedication within our school.
Celebrating Excellence in STEM
Congratulations to Isaac Atabila, who has received the prestigious Peter Doherty Award for Excellence in STEM Education. This state-level honour recognises Isaac’s outstanding contributions to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and includes a $5,000 scholarship to support his future studies. Isaac’s achievement is a testament to his hard work and passion, and we are incredibly proud of him.
Staff Achievements – TeachX Awards and HAT Certification
Our staff continue to lead the way in educational excellence. This year, two of our teachers have been shortlisted for the Queensland TeachX Awards, which celebrate exceptional teaching across the state.
In addition, three more teachers have achieved Highly Accomplished Teacher (HAT) certification, bringing our total to five HAT-certified staff—the largest group of HAT teachers in any school across the Greater Ipswich region. With fewer than 4% of teachers nationally reaching this level, this is a remarkable accomplishment and reflects the strength and quality of teaching at Ripley Valley.
Annual Awards Night – Celebrating Student Success
We are also looking forward to our Annual Awards Night, which will be held on Tuesday, 22nd October. This special evening is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our students throughout 2025. A number of new and traditional awards will be presented, recognising excellence across academic, cultural, sporting, and leadership domains. We look forward to sharing this memorable occasion with our students, families, and community.
Thank you for your continued support as we celebrate the success and growth of our school community.
Yours Sincerely,
Brendan Krueger

Student Free Day
This Friday 5th September was a scheduled Student Free Day. On this day all staff were engaging in curriculum or professional development activities.
At our college we are continuing to engage in professional development by completing our First Aid qualifications and continuing to embed and review our Pedagogical Approaches and Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum. This day allows us to have collaborative planning across our teaching teams to ensure we are aligned in our approach to Pedagogy, Teaching and Learning at Ripley Valley SSC.
As we near the end of Term 3, it’s remarkable to reflect on how quickly the past few months have passed. This is no doubt due to the many exciting events, memorable celebrations, and meaningful learning experiences that have filled the term, each showcasing the growth and achievements of our students. As we enter the final weeks, our focus turns to assessment and staying motivated to achieve. This is a vital time for students to demonstrate their learning and finish the term strongly by living out our College core values of Respect, Responsibility, and Perseverance. These values are especially important now, encouraging students to remain focused, act with integrity, and give their very best effort, even as the end of term approaches. Our behaviour expectations also remain high because we believe every student is capable of excellence - and we want to see them succeed and celebrate their achievements.
Sense of Belonging Framework:
This year, our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) team has been working on the rollout of our Sense of Belonging Framework, adapted from the work of U.S. researcher and author Doug Fisher. This initiative aims to strengthen the connections our students feel with the school and with one another. As part of this process, we have been asking students to reflect on three key questions:
1. What can staff do to support your sense of belonging at RVSSC?
2. What can you do to be more involved at the College?
3. Who can help you become more connected?
Next term, our focus will be on the idea of feeling heard. This aligns closely with the important work we are doing with our Student Representative Council (SRC) to ensure student voices are not only listened to but also acted upon. We are excited to continue building a culture where students feel empowered to contribute to the life of the College.
Over the next few weeks, we will also finalise the process of selecting our new Student Leaders for 2026, with elections and leadership activities providing a wonderful opportunity for students to step forward and represent their peers. This is always a highlight of our school calendar, and we look forward to seeing our future leaders emerge.
Awards Evening:
Preparations continue for the Annual Awards Evening, which will take place in Week 3 of Term 4 on Wednesday 22nd of October. A core component of this event includes celebrating students who have received: Raptor Awards, Special Awards, Subject Awards and those who have been elected school leaders for 2025. Invitations to this event will be sent out early next Term to the families of students receiving awards on the night.
Ripley Rewards Trip:
Thanks to all the students who submitted their Ripley Rewards Applications this Term to the Hijinx Hotel and Holey Moley. Final preparations are being made for the trip and lists of students who have been approved to attend will be posted in the Library next week. If you have any questions or concerns around this process, please feel free to email the Year Coordinator Team at: YCO@ripleyvalleyssc.eq.edu.au.
I wish all students a positive end to the Term, and look forward to celebrating their achievements on Awards Night in Term 4.
Regards,
Daniel Pym

11 Weeks left of Year 11
On Friday 29th of August we celebrated our grade 11 students and the fact they only have 11 weeks of Year 11 left before becoming our next cohort of year 12 students at Ripley Valley State Secondary College.
Thank you to the year 11 team, Chappy Kristian and Chef Claire for organising the event, festivities and the amazing cake. We are incredibly proud of what the students continue to achieve and look forward to journeying with them next year as the year 12 cohort of the College.
Next Steps Meetings
Over the last few weeks our year 12 students have undertaken meetings with a member of our year 12 team to discuss their next steps upon leaving Ripley Valley SSC. These meetings have focussed on preparing students for QTAC applications, University entry requirements, job applications, interview skills and resume writing.
It has been great to be part of these meetings and hear of the exciting pathways students will be pursuing upon leaving our College. While it will be sad to farewell our year 12 students in a few short months, I am excited to hear of the amazing things they accomplish in the years ahead.
Student Drivers and Passengers
During the senior years of schooling many of our students become drivers and start driving themselves to school. Whilst this is a significant and exciting time for our young people it is critical that we know who they are.
Therefore, we request that if you have a student driver that you access the Student Driver Permission form and complete with your student and submit as soon as possible. This is to ensure the safety of your student.
It is also important that as parents/guardians you understand that we have a duty of care for all our students and that your son or daughter does not drive other students in their car without the prior appropriate permissions. Once again this is to protect the wellbeing of all our students. If your child will be transporting other students, it is important that the Permission to be Transported by a Student Driver form is completed by all passengers and their parents/carers.
We would also like to remind all parents that students are not permitted to leave the school grounds without written permission from parents provided to the administration. It is not acceptable for students to leave the school grounds at any time during the day to get 'things' from their cars.
As a school we appreciate any support and reinforcement of these expectations from parents/guardians. Thank you for your ongoing support in this area.
If you have any questions about students driving, please contact Mr Todd Robson - Deputy Principal.
Year 12 Mock External Exam Block – Term 3
In Week 10 of this term, year 12 students will be undertaking a Mock External exam block. This exam block is an important aspect of the senior learning phase as it will provide students with an indication of what to expect for their end of year 12 external exams starting in term 4.
To help assist students and ensure that the exam block runs smoothly we ask that parents please take note of the following information.
- Year 12 students are only required to attend school for scheduled exams or VET catch up sessions. Students must arrive at the beginning of the exam session and are to wear correct uniform.
- When required for a scheduled exam session, students must remain in the designated exam room for the entire scheduled session with their teacher. Students will be able to leave at the conclusion of their exam.
- Year 12 students at school at any time other than an exam session or lunch break, will be working in the designated study classroom. The study room is a supervised room, and a roll will be marked each lesson. Student’s expectations are to work quietly and independently.
- Any VET students with outstanding modules of work will be required to attend VET catch up sessions during the exam block. Students will be required to attend these sessions until all required work is completed.
YEAR 11 EXAM BLOCK – Term 4
Early next term our year 11 students will be finishing their Unit 2 studies and completing their end of year exam block. This exam block is an important aspect of the senior learning phase as it will provide students with an indication of what to expect for their end of year 12 external exams.
The year 11 exam block will be held in the week starting from Monday 27th October. The exam timetable will be released early next term to all year 11 students and parents/carers.
To help assist students and ensure that the exam block runs smoothly we ask that parents please take note of the following information.
- Year 11 students are only required to attend school for scheduled exams or VET catch up sessions. Students must arrive at the beginning of the exam session and are to wear correct uniform.
- When required for a scheduled exam session, students must remain in the designated exam room for the entire scheduled session with their teacher.

Year 10 SETPlan Update & Reminders
Thank you to our Year 10 families who participated in the Senior Education & Training Plan (SETPlan) interviews. Your involvement plays a vital role in supporting your child’s future learning pathway.
Following student subject selections, a small number of subjects were unable to run due to low enrolments. An additional Biology class has also been created. On Monday, 25 August, an email was sent to all Year 10 families outlining these changes. Please ensure you have reviewed this information and contact the school if your child requires any adjustments to their senior subject choices.
As a reminder, if your child is working towards meeting a prerequisite requirement for their chosen pathway, now is a critical time for them to apply themselves. Supporting your child to meet deadlines, engage with feedback, and seek further clarification where needed will greatly assist them in reaching their academic goals.
Finally, a reminder about our uniform policy. We ask for your support in ensuring students arrive at school in the correct uniform each day. The policy is available on our website and in the student diary. In particular, we remind families that:
-
Students must wear their ties correctly
-
Uniform items should be worn as prescribed (e.g., skirts are not to be rolled up)
We appreciate your continued support in maintaining the high standards and professional dress code expected at Ripley Valley State Secondary College.

Deputy Principal - Year 11 & Year 12 - Pathways & Partnerships
As we approach the end of Term 3, I would like to take a moment to commend both our students and staff for their dedication, resilience and hard work throughout the term - particularly during the assessment period.
The majority of students have now completed their assessments, with only a few classes scheduled for early in week 9. We appreciate everyone's commitment to staying focused during this bust time.
Our year 12 General Maths, Maths Methods and Specialist Maths students have now completed all internal assessments and are preparing for external exams. Students will be doing mock external exams during week 10 and will be provided with feedback to prepare them for external exams.
I would like to acknowledge the mathematics staff who have gone above and beyond by volunteering their time for lunch time tutoring. Their support has played a vital role in helping students strive for their best.
I encourage all students to actively engage in classroom activities and finish the term strong!
General notices:
- All students MUST bring a scientific calculator to class every lesson and will require this for the exam.
- Mathematics tutoring is on every Tuesday (1st break) and Thursday (2nd break) in C01. All students are encouraged and welcome to attend.

Our Year 7 students have been busy bringing Japanese culture to life in the classroom! For their latest assessment, they stepped into the role of chefs and cultural ambassadors, creating their very own obento lunch. Each student carefully designed and prepared a beautifully presented meal, reflecting the Japanese values of balance, nature, colour, and creativity. The excitement didn’t stop there—they also presented their obento to the class, explaining the cultural significance and inspiration behind their choices. It was a wonderful celebration of language, culture, and delicious food, with students showing off both their culinary flair and growing confidence in Japanese.

This term has been an exciting and dynamic one across our Media Arts, Visual Art and Digital Technologies subjects with students exploring creativity, critical thinking and innovation through a range of hands-on projects. It has been wonderful being able to visit so many classrooms this term and see students engaged in their learning from Year 7's building computers to Year 11 FTM students planning documentaries and Year 12's finalising their IA3 productions and Folio and have now started their Mock Exam preparations which are coming up in week 10.
Visual Art
This term, our Year 9 Visual Art students have been diving into the world of colour theory, with a focus on exploring the different relationships between colours. Students are discovering how the way colours are placed next to each other can completely change the mood and impact of an artwork.
To extend their painting skills, students have taken on the challenge of applying their new knowledge in a playful, summery inspired project – ice cream artworks. As the warmer weather approaches, what better way to brighten the classroom than with paper filled with delicious cones, vibrant scoops, and painterly swirls!
The working results are bold, and just a little bit mouth-watering. Year 9 are proving that they can combine technical skill with imagination – and serve up artworks as delightful as a real scoop on a hot day!
Here are some works in progress. Stay tuned for our complete Monochromatic Melts..!

7 Dance
Students have been hard at work developing both their technical and expressive dance skills in preparation for their upcoming performance task. This assessment challenges them to learn popular dance movements set to fun, upbeat music, while also focusing on rhythm, spatial awareness, coordination, and expression.
As they prepare to perform their routines for an audience of their peers, students are building not only confidence but also pride in their ability to express themselves through movement. The process encourages growth, mastery, and visible progress, while the creative and rhythmic nature of dance helps foster a positive self-image. Each dancer is able to showcase their own unique style and celebrate their individual accomplishments
9 Dance
Year 9 Dance students have just wrapped up their performance task, showcasing their skills in the energetic and dynamic style of Hip Hop. A big thank you goes to Jaimi from The Creative Edge, who brought her expertise and passion to our workshops, making the learning experience both fun and inspiring.
Students will now move into their next challenge, a project task that dives deeper into the origins and evolution of Hip Hop dance. They’ll explore how global trends have influenced the style over time and consider how these trends shape the way we choreograph today.
Using this research as inspiration, students will collaborate to create their own original group choreography, blending historical knowledge with modern creativity.
11 Dance
Year 11 Dance students have been pushing their creativity with their latest assessment, the Dance Film Clip project. This demanding task required students to not only choreograph their own original contemporary routines, but also step into the role of teacher, passing their choreography on to a group of peers.
From there, the challenge continued as students took their work beyond the studio, filming on location to bring their artistic vision to life. They then entered the editing suite, carefully shaping their footage into a polished multimodal presentation. Each film clip had to communicate clear choreographic intent while also addressing complex choreographic problems.
With this intensive project soon coming to completion, students will next turn their focus toward the evaluation of professional contemporary performance, further building their analytical and critical dance skills and preparing for their final exam.
7 Music
It’s something unpredictable, but in the end it’s right — our Grade 7 music students are certainly having the time of their life as they dive into learning the guitar. This term, they have been focusing on the fundamentals of the instrument, building skills that make popular songs accessible and fun to perform. From learning basic chords to strumming patterns, students are discovering how quickly they can turn simple techniques into music they recognise and enjoy.
What’s been most exciting is the way students are taking ownership of their learning outside of class. Lunchtime rehearsal rooms have been fully booked as students practise, collaborate, and refine their playing in preparation for assessment. Their enthusiasm is clear — not just in the effort they’re putting in, but also in the supportive peer relationships being built through music.
As a result of this energy, we are thrilled to now have two new junior pop/rock groups forming within the school. These groups will provide even more opportunities for performance and creativity, showcasing the teamwork and passion that has been growing among our Grade 7 musicians. We can’t wait to see where their musical journey takes them next!
11 Music
Our Grade 11 music students have been deeply engaged in exploring how social, political, and personal identities can be represented through music. This unit has encouraged them to think about how music reflects culture and lived experience, while also being a powerful medium to communicate messages and influence audiences. Students have been listening critically, discussing meaning, and applying these ideas to their own work in creative and thoughtful ways.
ATAR Music students are finalising their integrated projects, which involve researching a chosen identity, examining how it is represented across multiple songs, and then bringing these findings together through an original performance or composition. This process challenges them to connect theory with practice, demonstrating not only their analytical skills but also their creativity and musicianship. Each project reflects a unique perspective, showing how identity can be explored in many different and meaningful ways.
Music in Practice students are focusing on how to represent their own identities through performance and how their artistic choices can shape the viewpoints of their audiences. They are developing confidence in expressing themselves while also considering the impact their music has on others. Across both pathways, all students are working very hard, and we are looking forward to seeing their ideas finalised and brought to life in the coming weeks.
Instrumental Music
Our Instrumental Music students are busily preparing for their final concerts and performances of the year, while continuing to expand their skills and techniques in exciting new ways. Each section of the program has been working on specialised units designed to both challenge and inspire, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to grow as a musician.
Percussionists have recently begun their drumkit unit, developing coordination, rhythm, and ensemble awareness, while pitched percussionists are focusing on the dynamics of playing together as a group. Brass and woodwind students are exploring world music, broadening their understanding of global traditions and styles. Meanwhile, our string players are experimenting with new and innovative techniques, including slap bass, to add variety and creativity to their playing.
While the emphasis remains on learning and developing musicality rather than rushing toward deadlines, regular attendance at rehearsals is still essential. These sessions provide students with the chance to refine new material, work collaboratively, and prepare confidently for upcoming performances. We are excited to see all their hard work come together as the term draws to a close.

Supporting Students with QTAC Preferences
Our Year 12 students have been working closely with the Guidance Officers and senior schooling team to prepare for their next steps beyond school. Over the past few weeks, students have received support in understanding the QTAC (Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre) application process, exploring university and TAFE pathways, and refining their preferences.
In this process, students have been encouraged to not only consider their dream course, but also to check subject adjustment factors, course prerequisites, and offer rounds. Many students have already lodged their applications, and some have even received early offers from UniSQ through their participation in the Head Start program. We will continue to meet with those who require further guidance.
Our goal is for every student applying through QTAC to receive an offer. To support this, students have also been advised to include pathway courses in case they do not receive their expected ATAR. Information about upgrading course options has been communicated to all Year 12s, and I will be in contact with students and families where additional pathway preferences may need to be added as a precaution.
Parents and caregivers play an important role in this process by discussing options at home and ensuring applications are submitted on time. QTAC applications are now open, and it is essential that preferences are lodged by 30 September 2025 to be considered in the first round of offers.
We encourage families to:
- Sit down with students and review their preferences together.
- Contact the university directly if there are questions about prerequisites or entry requirements.
- Reach out to me if additional support is needed.
We are proud of the effort our Year 12s are putting into shaping their future pathways and look forward to celebrating their achievements in the months ahead.
Supports for Students at University
I have recently received several enquiries about how students are supported at university. At school, students are accustomed to both academic and social-emotional support, and families may wonder whether the university experience is different. Many parents recall a “sink or swim” approach from their own studies.
Modern universities, however, provide a wide range of structured services to meet the needs of their students. Each university has a wellbeing department with staff dedicated to academic, personal, and career support.
At the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ), students can access:
Wellbeing Supports
- Multi-faith chaplaincy
- Student counsellors
- Mental health nurse
- Student wellbeing advisors
- Accessibility and disability support, including Learning Support Plans (with medical documentation)
- Clinical psychologist (fees may apply)
Career Supports
- Career counselling for prospective students
- Employability and skills development for current students and recent graduates (up to 12 months post-graduation)
- Résumé support and work experience programs
Learning Advisors
- Academic support across a wide range of disciplines (First Nations College, Maths, Arts, Business and Law, Education, Engineering, Sciences and IT, Health, UniSQ College)
- Assistance with assignment writing, unpacking assessment tasks, and developing study strategies
Modern universities ensure students do not need to “swim alone.” If your child experiences difficulties, please contact the wellbeing department at their institution. Contact details for the UniSQ Wellbeing Team are included below.
Preparing Students for the Financial Side of University and TAFE
As the end of the year approaches, we ask parents to assist their child in preparing for the financial transition into full-time university or TAFE study. While students will receive information directly, your guidance in this process is invaluable.
Key steps for students include:
- Identify the right payment: Students need to determine whether they are eligible for ABSTUDY or AUSTUDY.
- Calculate entitlements: Students are encouraged to use the Services Australia online estimator to calculate the level of government support available. Parental assistance is often required at this step, as household income details must be entered.
Services Australia Estimator - Understand HECS-HELP (deferring tuition fees): Eligible students can defer the cost of their university subjects through the HECS-HELP loan system. Repayments only begin once a graduate’s income reaches the repayment threshold.
More information about HECS-HELP - Plan for work and study balance: A full-time study load is typically four subjects. Some students may need to supplement their income through part-time work, and careful planning is essential.
- Budgeting: Students have engaged in budgeting education at RVSSC, but we also recommend families use the MoneySmart Budget Planner to support discussions at home.
MoneySmart Budget Planner
We encourage families to work through these steps together to support a smooth transition into tertiary study.

Celebrating our Teacher Aides in Week 8
Week 8 is Teacher Aide Appreciation Week! At RVSSC, we paused to celebrate our outstanding teacher aides with messages of gratitude from students and staff across the College. Our TAs are the quiet achievers of every great lesson, and their impact is felt in classrooms, corridors and beyond.
Every day, teacher aides:
-
support learning in-class and in small groups, clarifying concepts, pre-teaching vocabulary and checking for understanding
-
support with scaffolded tasks and model strategies for reading, writing and numeracy
-
help students regulate and refocus with calm prompting and positive routines
-
adapt resources and use assistive tech to make learning accessible for all students
-
provide practical support during practical subjects, yard duty and excursions to keep students safe and engaged
-
assist with assessment access (e.g., readers/scribes, breaking tasks into manageable steps)
-
collaborate with teachers to prepare resources and provide timely feedback to students.
At RVSSC we recognise the vital role our TAs play in the lives of students and the positive, lasting impact they have on our College community. Thank you for your dedication, skill and care—our school is stronger because of you.

We are nearing the end of the term and what a term is has been in the Chaplaincy space. From 1:1 conversation to programs, to providing entertainment and food in various events. As much as it has been a great jam-packed term, there is still a couple of weeks to go.
Pastoral Care
As a school chaplain, the role is to provide emotional, spiritual and social support to the students and wider school community. One of the ways this support is provided is with one-on-one pastoral care conversations. If you would like Kristian to provide support for your child, please email him at chaplaincy@ripleyvalleyssc.eq.edu.au
If you also want to know more about chaplaincy, please use the latest snapshot to find out more about who we are and what we do:

Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club, one of the school's extra-curricular programs, Breakfast Club has started up for the term and it runs every day from 8:15-8:45 am. This is an excellent way for the students to engage with one another over food or milo and doesn't cost them anything. If you want to volunteer for this, please email us; we will appreciate your help.
Chaplaincy Support Team
The Chaplaincy Support Team (Formally known as Local Chaplaincy Committee) is the supporting and guiding body behind the Chaplaincy Service, helping to shape it to meet the well-being of the school community here at the College. If this sounds like something you would like to attend, our next meeting is on Thursday the 16th of October. Please get in touch if you'd like additional information.
Programs
Programs have wrapped up for the term and thank you to those who came. If you want your child to be a part of a program in term 4, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
SU Camps
Scripture Union Australia, the organisation that employs the chaplains here in Ripley Valley and hundreds of schools across the country, is also a camping organisation. If you want something for your child to do over the holidays, please follow the following link.

Chappy Pantry
Chappy Pantry is being used daily, and we thank those who donated. Chappy Pantry was designed to provide essential food assistance to students who may come to school without lunch, have insufficient lunch, or experience hunger during the school day.
The Chappy Pantry has already made an incredible impact, and we are excited to continue to grow this initiative. If you want to help and donate food for this, please get in touch with us. We will love your support.
SU Schoolies
Scripture Union Australia also runs drug & alcohol-free schoolies events for all those in year 12 wanting to celebrate finishing their schooling. A few options exist, such as Sunshine Coast, Hawaii & Vanuatu. If this interests you or your child, please follow the link below for more information.
R U Okay Day
On Thursday the 11th of September the college will be celebrating R U Okay Day. What is R U Okay Day? RU Okay Day is a National Day of Action in Australia, that encourages people to connect with others and have meaningful conversations to support anyone struggling with life
This year there will be many activities the students can get involved with such as, chalk drawing, hand art, karaoke, biscuit decorating, bracelet making & a chance to write an encouraging letter to another student. There will also be snowcones on sale during second break as well as a potential to get some photos taken.
As much as we want the day to be fun, we also don’t want to take away from the message and that is to ask a mate if they are okay. All you have to do is listen, encourage them and check in on them.
Looking forward to the remainder of the term, we hope you have a great, well rested holiday.

Hi and welcome to another Defence Article for our school newsletter. I cannot believe we are nearing the end of term three already. Where did the time go? A lot of my term has been spent learning the role of Defence School Mentor and all that it entails. The most important thing for me is to ensure that our Defence students are supported, whether by me personally or other staff here at RVSSC.
IMPORTANT
To ensure these supports can be implemented, it’s important that Defence parents and/or partners provide up-to-date information to me as the Defence School Mentor. Therefore, if you know that you are transitioning, being posted/relocating or being deployed, I would appreciate you informing me as soon as possible please.
Veteran & Family Wellbeing Centre
RSL Queensland has secured the location for a new Veteran & Family Wellbeing Centre at 260 Brisbane Street, West Ipswich, set to open mid-2026 RSL Queensland+1Local Ipswich News.

Celebrate the centenary of The Queensland Digger
In 2025 we celebrate 100 years since The Queensland Digger (now Queensland RSL News) was first published. That’s a centenary of telling veterans’ stories. Our readers are part of this milestone, so we’d like you to participate in our celebration. We’d love you to tell us:
- Do you have any special memories of our member magazine over the years?
- Did you read any articles that were inspiring or even life-changing?
- Has it helped you reconnect with long-lost friends?
Please email editor@rslqld.org if you have any photos, stories to share or ideas to help us celebrate the centenary.
DEFENCE CLUB
Defence Club is held EVERY WEDNESDAY, FIRST BREAK in J207. It's an opportunity for Defence students to get to know each other, have some fun, share stories, and feel supported. Remember that nobody gets Defence challenges like you & your Defence peers.

Vietnam Veterans Day – 18th August 2025. I represented the school for this commemoration at the Ipswich RSL Sub-Branch. I found it quite emotional and particularly enjoyed the release of white doves signifying peace, love, hope, and the ascension of the departed souls. Just beautiful.
Remembrance Day – 10th November 2025. The date RVSSC will be commemorating here on school grounds. An EOI has been sent to Defence students and cadets who may wish to participate.
