Creative Industries
This term has been an exciting and dynamic one across our Media Arts, Visual Art and Digital Technologies subjects with students exploring creativity, critical thinking and innovation through a range of hands-on projects. It has been wonderful being able to visit so many classrooms this term and see students engaged in their learning from Year 7's building computers to Year 11 FTM students planning documentaries and Year 12's finalising their IA3 productions and Folio and have now started their Mock Exam preparations which are coming up in week 10.
Visual Art
This term, our Year 9 Visual Art students have been diving into the world of colour theory, with a focus on exploring the different relationships between colours. Students are discovering how the way colours are placed next to each other can completely change the mood and impact of an artwork.
To extend their painting skills, students have taken on the challenge of applying their new knowledge in a playful, summery inspired project – ice cream artworks. As the warmer weather approaches, what better way to brighten the classroom than with paper filled with delicious cones, vibrant scoops, and painterly swirls!
The working results are bold, and just a little bit mouth-watering. Year 9 are proving that they can combine technical skill with imagination – and serve up artworks as delightful as a real scoop on a hot day!
Here are some works in progress. Stay tuned for our complete Monochromatic Melts..!
