VET
2024 PATHWAYS
Students that are interested in pursuing school-based apprenticeships & traineeships are encouraged to see Mrs George in the careers Hub. Many positions are opening up for the new year and will continue to become available in the coming months. Once students have made contact with Mrs George, she will be able to monitor preferred positions and keep in contact regarding applications and next steps forward.
WESTEC
In 2024 we have a number of students signing up to courses offered through WesTEC Trade Training Centre in Springfield, largely their automotive, electrotechnology and plumbing qualifications as well as some others. Please note that there is a mandatory parent evening coming up at the end of November and all students who have signed up for a WesTEC program will be required to complete a BKSB (literacy & numeracy) assessment on Thursday 9th November. More details will be emailed directly to families involved. If you have not yet signed up for WesTEC for 2024, please see Mrs George in the Careers Hub.
DAYMAP CAREERS BOARD
There are currently numerous positions advertised on the Careers Board for casual positions, Christmas holiday work, traineeships & apprenticeships. Students are encouraged to regularly check the Careers Board on Daymap for updates that may be of interest to them. Mrs George is happy to work with students of all ages to develop their resumes & cover letters ready to apply for any position they want to apply for.
Mrs George can be found in the library Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and it is recommended that students email to make an appointment to see her (mgeor109@eq.edu.au)
