Deputy Principal - Culture and Engagement
Week 5 is upon us the end of the Year is well and truly in sight. Already the Term has been a whirlwind of activity and events - including the College Awards Evening, Showcase, and Mental Health Week – and the frenetic pace only looks to continue. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the students who received accolades on our Awards Night, and commend the amazing talent of those students who performed at Showcase. I would also like to acknowledge those wonderful students who were recently inducted into the Student Representative Council (SRC) for 2024. I look forward to officially welcoming them into the SRC at our Student Investiture Ceremony in Term 1, 2024. Other noteworthy events from this Term include the following:
Online Rewards Vault
This term saw the launch of the Online Rewards Vault for Students in Years 10 and 11. In addition to the physical Rewards Vault which students can access in the Library, Senior students will now have the opportunity to spend their Daymap Rewards Point at the Online Vault which is supported through Schoolzine. Students can identify how many points they have in Daymap and can access the Schoolzine form on the Student SharePoint or School Website. Several items are currently available in the store, including: chocolates and lollies, gift vouchers, sporting equipment, and even some big-ticket items such as Driving Lessons and Tickets to Formal.Excellence Morning Tea
Last Week we celebrated our final Excellence Morning Tea for the year. The focus of this Term was most improved academic achievement over the year. It was lovely to share this moment with the families of those students who have made such impressive progress through their hard work, perseverance and dedication.
World Teachers’ Day
On the 27th of October, the College celebrated World Teachers’ Day with a special lunch provided by QSuper. Our wonderful staff were also treated to gifts from the QTU and Yamanto Zarraffa’s, as well as individual compliments cards written by students at the College. Congratulations to Lauren Marks who won the World Teachers Day Teacher of the Year Award for Metropolitan South Region. This award, also sponsored by QSuper, recognises the amazing work Lauren has done in supporting students and bringing learning to life! Well done to Lauren, and to all our staff who make this school the amazing place that it is.
Wet ‘n Wild Rewards Day Excursion
This term, students who have consistently demonstrated our school values of respect, responsibility and perseverance will be invited on our celebratory end of year rewards day excursion. To be eligible, students must have submitted an application confirming that they have maintained at least a 95% approved attendance rate, submitted all assessments and received no more than two admin detentions in term 4.
Applications will be collated and crosschecked in Week 6, with invitations being emailed out in Week 7. Places in this highly anticipated excursion will be limited, so please complete the permission note and return payment as soon as possible to secure your child’s attendance.
