Deputy Principal - Teaching and Learning
SEMESTER 2 Report Cards
All of our classes are launching into their final units of learning and then assessment for the 2023 school year. Semester 2 Report Cards will be issued to parents/carers via email on Friday 1st December. Please ensure you are regularly checking the Daymap Parent Connect Portal for your child's assessment due dates, drafting feedback and final assessment results.
Please contact your child's teacher via Daymap message or email with any questions or concerns about assessment results or your child's ongoing progress.
Staff Retreat
In Week 7 and Week 9, we will be welcoming our new teachers to the College for 2024 for a two-day staff retreat. This gives them the opportunity to get to know our students, their colleagues and our ways of working so that they can hit the ground running when they meet their new students in 2024.
I look forward to introducing our new staff to you all via our social media pages and in our Week 8 newsletter.
A message for our Year 9 Families
As your student transitions into the Senior School, they will be retiring their Junior Uniforms and moving into our Senior Uniform.
Please ensure you have purchased sufficient items from the Uniform Shop ready for 2024!
A reminder of our Senior Uniform expectations:
- Students are expected to wear the full Senior School Uniform (see below image) every day except Wednesday.
- On Wednesday's students are able to wear their House Shirts with their Junior Uniform Shorts.
- Students engaging in practical subjects (HPE, Dance, etc) may change into either their Junior Polo Shirt or House Shirt with Junior Shorts for practical lessons only.
- They will be expected to change back into their Senior Uniform after the lesson.
The Wearitto Uniform Shop has additional opening hours for 2023 and in January 2024 to help you get back to school ready. Please see appointment booking links and opening hours in the flyer below.
A message for our Year 10 families
Our Year 10 students will be finishing school on Friday 24th November. Prior to this, students will be involved in an Exam Block from Monday 20th - Thursday 23rd November.
Exam Block schedules will be distributed to students within the next two weeks.
Students who have incomplete assessment or VET competencies will be required to attend a Catch-Up room until assessment is completed. Parent/carers of students required to attend will be informed by the end of Week 7 (Friday 17th November).
Communication about 2024 pathways has recently been emailed home. Please check your spam folder if you have not received this and ensure you have added administration@ripleyvalleyssc.eq.edu.au to your safe senders list.
