EXITING SCHOOL AFTER YEAR 10?
As we begin the final 10 weeks of 2023, I understand that not every student intends to return in 2024. The end of Year 10 reaches a milestone in the schooling journey for many students who make the decision to move to other study pathways, such as TAFE, or to enter into the workforce. If you are interested in leaving school at the end of this year and would like some assistance in finding your next pathway, please see Mr Gerchow or Mrs George.
DAYMAP CAREERS BOARD
There are currently numerous positions advertised on the Careers Board for casual positions, Christmas holiday work, traineeships & apprenticeships. Students are encouraged to regularly check the Careers Board on Daymap for updates that may be of interest to them. Mrs George is happy to work with students of all ages to develop their resumes & cover letters ready to apply for any position they want to apply for.
Mrs George can be found in the library Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and it is recommended that students email to make an appointment to see her (mgeor109@eq.edu.au)
2024 TRAINING
Students signing up for TAFE, WesTEC or other external programs will be emailed about their applications for 2024. Students are to keep an eye on their messages for these and are encouraged to complete these applications as soon as possible to lock in their positions in these programs. Students signing up for Engineering, Construction or Fitness on our timetable for next year will be contacted in Term 4 to complete their enrolments for 2024.
Families are welcome to email pahways@ripleyvalleyssc.eq.edu.au with any questions they have about current positions or for assistance in finding their ideal positions & training for the future.
