Health and Physical Education
Just like that, we are in week 8 and students have been busy preparing for or finalising assessments for this term. It has been great getting around to see a number of HPE and Food Specialisations classes over my first four weeks seeing students in action during class. I have been very impressed by the welcoming nature of both the students and staff at the school and look forward to more opportunities to see the students engaging in learning with their peers and teachers.
The first of two classroom highlights that stood out for me in the last 4 weeks was seeing Japanese combining with Food Specialisations in the kitchens where Mrs Montel combined with Mrs Wellwood's classes to prepare Bento boxes as part of an enriched learning experiences for our students.
The second was seeing Miss Steffanutti's year 10 Food Specialisations class preparing platters and take away boxes for staff as part of their High Tea event. The students worked in small groups to design and prepare their individualised boxes which looked and tasted amazing!
If you are looking for a conversation starter with your kids around the dinner table, the units we have been completing this term are below.
