Science
In Term 3 each year we celebrate National Science Week. This year's theme was Innovation and our Year 7 students enjoyed making bionic hand models as a brain break from exam revision. There were many variations on the pattern created and students enjoyed trying to pick small objects up using their bionic model. Students also participated in water rockets on the oval. This was great fun on a hot day as students competed with each other to get their rocket the furthest down the oval.
Our Year 7 and 8 students are about to investigate Colonising Mars and Preventing Rust respectively. This will allow for some Guided and Open Inquiry tasks where students design their own investigations and decide how to communicate their findings in media like posters, reports and prototypes. We are looking forward to seeing what creative learning they produce.
As we head towards the end of Term 3 our science students are all starting to submit final assessment tasks and sit exams. A reminder to access the extension request form at https://ripleyvalleyssc.schoolzineplus.com/form/251 if you need to apply for additional time to complete your tasks.
