English
Over the next two weeks, English assessments are all due for submission. Teachers and support staff are working super hard to help students maximise class time to ensure their success. As parents and caregivers, you can support your child by reinforcing the importance of engaging in lessons, encouraging your child to ask for assistance where necessary, encouraging your child to attend homework club and most importantly, ensuring your child attends exams and submits assessment on time.
In the classroom, our Year 7 English students have been learning about the power of poetry this term. Analysing poems to unearth symbolism and deeper meaning has unlocked student awareness of the comment literature can make about the world around us. From there, students will pitch a poem to an established artist or band, justifying why the poem would make an excellent song. It’s sure to be a treble-ific end of term!
