Deputy Principal - Pathways & Partnerships
Congratulations
The end of Week 7 (Friday 2nd June) marked the end of Unit 1 for all Year 11 students. Over the first 17 weeks of this year, students have been working on a variety of assessment tasks that have not only assessed their abilities in their current subjects, but also provided valuable feedback for further assessment tasks.
Doc Rivers (NBA player and coach) says "Average players want to be left alone. Good players want to be coached. Great players want to be told the truth". The feedback that students receive across all their learning experiences is only as valuable as their mindset on how they receive it. If a student is unwilling to receive feedback then it will not make any changes, only when a student is willing to receive and apply feedback will changes and growth occur. I encourage all students to reflect on the feedback they have received over the course of this unit and apply it to the required areas for further development.
As student embark on the start of Unit 2, I wish them all the best and will continue to champion and encourage them to reach their dreams and their potential.
Unit One Senior Report Cards
Unit One Senior Report Cards will be issued via email to all parents/carers on Monday 12th June). These report cards will contain a cumulative result based upon all summative assessment completed across Unit 1. Teachers will also provide a Behaviour, Effort and Homework result for your student. These will be sent via an automated email from the information stored on One School. If there have been changes to your active email address, please update your details with our Administration Staff (administration@ripleyvalleyssc.eq.edu.au) to ensure you receive your child's report. Please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions about the Unit 1 Report Card
QCE Reviews
On Wednesday 14th June, Year 11 students and their parents/carers will be required to participate in a QCE review. During this process students and parents will meet with a member of the College’s Leadership team to review their Unit 1 progress and their intended pathway. This meeting is an opportunity for students to identify on areas for improvement, set goals and make adjustments to their pathway if required. These meetings can be booked on Daymap and will be held in the Ripley Valley SSC Library between 8am and 4.30pm.
