Science
It has been a busy Term 2 for the Science faculty.
Our Year 7's have been exploring field work and investigating high and low traffic areas in our school and the impact that this has on diversity. They are currently sitting practice exam style questions to help them prepare for their formal Term 2 exam on classification.
Our Year 8's have been out in the school yard shooting ping pong ball slingshots to investigate the relationship between stored elastic potential energy in different elastic band widths and the distance the ball then travels. They are then linking this learning to catapults and trebuchets.
Our Year 9's have just finalised their research tasks on Ecology and are moving into Human Psychology and Disease. This is always an interesting topic as the brain has so much learning to explore.
Our Year 10 students are also revising for their exam block where they will be sitting their Physics Motion exam.
A reminder that our Year 10 Extension and Physic/Chemistry students will be moving to their new subject rotation for Semester 2 where they will explore Psychology and Chemistry concepts respectively.
Please remind your students to check their assessment schedules on Daymap so that they are prepared for the exams and assignments that are due in the next 3 weeks. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your student's classroom teacher who will be happy to answer any questions about the task requirements and due dates.
