Deputy Principal - Culture and Engagement
Once again, I find myself amazed at how quickly the year has flown by. We are only a couple of weeks away from the half-way mark and yet the beginning of the year seems like a rather recent memory. It has, however, been a busy Term, and before we reach the holidays there are still plenty of key events on the College calendar. Indeed, over the last two weeks of Term many of our students will have the opportunity to be involved in the: Careers Expo, Interhouse Track and Field Carnival, Year 10 Work Experience, ATSIAP State Finals, and the End of Term Rewards Trip.
Positive Behaviour for Education (PBL) Update
In the PBL space, our students have also had the opportunity to reflect on our core values of: Respect, Responsibility and Perseverance as they engage in their fortnightly PBL lessons. The focus of the last few weeks has been the importance of perseverance and showing responsibility by owning your behaviours. As part of these lessons, students examined the acronym OARBED which illustrates the importance of getting out of BED and onto the OARs (see below):
The Ripley Way Podcast
This term also saw the creation of The Ripley Way – a podcast designed to examine our fortnightly PBL focus through interviews with our wonderful staff and students. The podcast is hosted by our own Mr Meredith and is featured on the College social media sites. To listen to the latest episode, click on the following link: https://youtu.be/ubS3a53pWUg
