Semester One Report Cards
Semester One Report Cards will be issued via email to all parents/carers on the last day of Term 2 (Friday 23rd June). These report cards will contain a cumulative result based upon all summative assessment completed across Terms 1 and 2. Teachers will also provide a Behaviour, Effort and Homework result for your student.
These will be sent via an automated email from the information stored on One School. If there have been changes to your active email address, please update your details with our Administration Staff administration@ripleyvalleyssc.eq.edu.au to ensure you receive your child's report.
Please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions about the Semester 1 Report Card.
Parent Teacher Interviews
Parent Teacher Interviews will be held on Wednesday 26th July from 3:00pm - 7:00pm in Level 2, J Block. Bookings for these interviews will open early in Term 3 to ensure you are able to meet with your student's Semester 2 teachers. All bookings are made via the Daymap Parent Connect Portal.
The commencement of Semester 2 sees a large amount of subject changes, as your student moves on to their second Elective offering for the year.
The Parent Teacher Interviews are a great way to meet your student's new teachers early on in their new electives.
Year 9 PPP Meetings
A reminder to Year 9 Parents/Carers that our Pathways Preparation Plan (PPP) Meetings are being held on the same day as Parent Teacher Interviews in J206.
This is an opportunity for you and your students to discuss their pathway options for Senior Schooling and receive individual advice from a member of our College Leadership Team.
Year 9 students will be finishing class after Period 2 on this day to enable them to attend their PPP Meeting with their parent/carers.
Bookings are available from 12:00pm until 7:00pm on Wednesday 26th July.
Year 10 SET Plan Meetings
For our Year 10 families, our SET Plan Meetings will be held on Wednesday 2nd August. Attendance is not required for our Year 10 students on this day. This is an opportunity for you and your students to review the pathway decision that was made in your PPP meeting and select your subjects for Year 11 and 12. Our Leadership Team will provide individual advice to you and your child about the continuation of their Senior School journey.
Appointment times are available from 8:00am until 4:00pm and bookings can be made now.
Staff Professional Development
At Ripley Valley SSC, our school values and motto apply to our staff as well as our students and we are continually striving to achieve excellence as a teaching team.
Our College Leadership Team recently held a Professional Development day at the new Ripley Central State School. On this day we participated in professional learning with our partners at SENTIS Education who focussed upon the way our Heads of Department and Deputy Principals can continue to provide opportunities to create future leaders within our teaching team. We took a quick break to refuel and stretched our legs as we explored the new Ripley Central SS campus and Principal Wuanita Meyrick discussed the soon to be completed building works (image below). In the afternoon, our Leadership Team focussed on curriculum with the upcoming implementation of Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum.
This day was a fantastic opportunity for our Leadership Team to have focussed professional development time and connect with our Primary School partners. We are very grateful to Ripley Central SS for hosting us.
