Science
Our Year 7 and 10 students have investigated field work in the last week. Year 7 students are currently studying ecology and classification and have now learnt biological sampling techniques for collecting specimens. Students took samples from a high and low traffic area and then compared their findings under microscopes or with magnifying glasses to determine if student traffic impacts on organisms. Microscopes have proven to be a big hit with our Year 7's and we look forward to continuing to allow them to explore the microscopic world.
Our Year 10 core science students all headed to the Raptordome to put their theoretical learning of speed and acceleration to the test with some foot races. Congratulations to 10B and Ms Mahipus for being the class with the greatest speed and acceleration. What fun!
Please remind your students to check their assessment schedules on Daymap so that they are prepared for the exams and assignments that are due in the next 3 weeks. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your student's classroom teacher who will be happy to answer any questions about the task requirements.
