Science
Welcome back from school holidays! I hope that you have all enjoyed a restful Easter period and are ready to move into new learning.
Our Term 2 Science classes are all beginning new topics of investigation this Term. Year 7's will be exploring Ecology with a focus on the classification of organisms based on features. Students will demonstrate their learning via an exam in Week 9.
Year 8 students will be investigating Physics and the forces around them that allow objects to move. Students will have a mini exam in Week 5 that focusses on Forces and a Student Experiment in Week 8 around the Physics of projectiles like slingshots and catapults.
Our Year 9 students will be moving into Ecology, Biology and Psychology investigating the impact that humans have on ecosystems, their own body system regulation processes (water, temperature and sugar) and the human brain. Students will complete a Research Task due in Week 7 on Bushfires or Introduced Species.
Year 10 students will also be investigating Physics with a focus on Newton's Laws. They will have an exam in exam block to demonstrate their learning.
A reminder to please have a charged laptop each lesson so that students can access all their learning materials and the digital platforms that have been selected for maximise learning. The Science team looks forward to collaborating with you to support your student's learning at Parent Teacher Interviews this Term.
