Social Media
While our students have been learning at home they have had more opportunity to access social media platforms. I encourage parents to adhere to the age limits on social media sites and ensure that you are aware of the social media sites your child is on, and that you are following your child on these platforms yourself.
It is also imperative that the security on your childs account is high, and set to private.
Here is a helpful video from @cybersafetylady to help you check your childs instagram account:
And another helpful video on ensuring your child's snapchat account is secure.
Over the coming weeks, as students return back to school, I will begin to promoting trials for our new eSports team.
In semester 2, we will be entering just two teams into the FUSE Cup. The chosen games are age appropriate and do not include any violent content whatsoever. The games include Mario Kart Deluxe 8, Rocket League and FIFA20 on the Nintendo switch. Over the coming years, we look forward to growing our eSports team and competition presence while engaging students through gamification and teaching students the importance of gaming and life balance, communication, excercise and the perserverance and respect required to be a 'gamer'.
All selected students will be required to complete an online course regarding esports and cybersafety.
Training will be held during 1 x lunch time and a 1 x after school session.
Further information about this will be provided in the coming weeks.
