Dance

Last week Miss Mahipus ran a Hip Hop workshop at lunch time. It was great seeing so many students come along and participate. Thank you Miss Mahipus for sharing your skills with us.

Dance students are about to present their performance tasks in classes. This week our students have been submitting their drafts which is a great chance for students to receive feedback prior to their final assessment date. Occasionally dance students have had the opportunity to watch other classes performance tasks which is a great experience to watch other dance styles.

Drama

Drama students are working towards their first piece of assessment. Our Year 8 students are working on their "Honey Spot" performance tasks and are working within the Australian Theatre style. For many students this will be the first time they have performed in a drama piece and we encourage them to have fun, be creative and enjoy the experience.

Music

Music students are working on their responding tasks which sets up a foundation knowledge of the elements of music before moving into practical tasks for the remainder of the year. Mr Ezzy and Mr Coles are busy preparing pieces for our annual Showcase and we look forward to seeing the students progress from the classroom to the stage.

Extra-Curricular Dance

Dance Squad

Dance Squad is working towards their next eisteddfod at the Lockyer District Dancing Festival in Week 9 of this term. Our costumes for our new routine "Hairspray" have arrived and we are excited to share this sneak peek of our new team tees.

Dance Troupe

Dance Troupe have been working with Mrs Dixon on their contemporary routine. We are excited to be sharing their work with you at this years annual Creative Showcase in Term 4.

Cheer

Our Cheer team has been selected and are now working with Miss Keating to learn their pom routine. They train every Friday morning. We would like to thank Miss Keating for taking this team on and sharing her skills with us. Miss Keating is a valued member of the QUT Cheer team and has a lot of knowledge to pass on to our students.
