On Thursday 9^th June 2022, our Year 7 and  Year 8 Japanese students met digitally with our inaugural sister school Sammu Boyo Junior High School in Chiba prefecture, Japan via Microsoft teams. Students from both countries sang, compared cities, practiced language skills and shared their love of koalas! The Japanese students were very excited to meet with us, waving their Australian flags and engaging our students with their humour. Our students were complimented on their Japanese speaking skills. Our students will communicate further with profiles and talk about kendo during the next interaction. Mr Satoshi’s comments included:

‘For us, the time we spent interacting with you was like a dream. Thank you to you for giving us such a wonderful time.

We were surprised that your students were very good at Japanese. We were also impressed by the students who sang Japanese songs.

Of course, I've sung that song as well, so I sang it together with their singing voice. We knew and were happy how interested you were in Japanese culture…The students and teachers of Sammuboyo Junior High School are very much looking forward to interacting with you again. We love Australia!’
