This week, RVSSC commemorated ANZAC Day with an all school ANZAC Commemoration assembly. Our service was attended by students, staff and parents; also in attendance was Australian Army Chaplain Padre Stephen Thomas, Flying Officer Ray Brown, Piper Adam Regnart and representatives from Federal, State and Local government and Defence Families.
RVSSC Students (Defence and Civilian), Army/Air Force/Navy Cadets, and School Captains also participated in our service, laying wreaths, delivering the Ode, raising the flag, singing the National Anthems of New Zealand and Australia, and playing the Last Post. The pride and dignity that all of our students displayed during the service was very obvious and it is clear that the Legacy of our ANZACs is in safe hands with the next generation.
Notable mention must be given to the speech delivered by Flying Officer Ray Brown, who spoke of the resilience and mateship of the Anzac's and how their legacy of that spirit should inspire all of us to become more resilient to the troubles we will encounter in life, and to also value and support those who are important to each of us.
