Principal's Report
Dear Parents & Carers,
I trust that over the Easter holiday break you were able to enjoy some much needed time to rest and relax after a rather eventful start to the year. It is great to be back at school and we are looking forward to "getting back to business" in the classroom and hosting our special college events.
This Thursday, our College held our annual ANZAC day service and once again it was pleasing to see so many parents, grandparents and members of the defence community attend. Commemorative services such as this remind me of the positive difference we can all make in our world and local community. For those who would like to attend a local ANZAC service on Monday the 25th April, a Community ANZAC Dawn service will be held at 5am in ANZAC place. Further information is available in the newsletter on our website and Facebook.
Another upcoming event that all members of the community are invited to attend is our annual Community Open Day which will be held on Saturday 7th May from 9am - 12pm. This is a great opportunity for you and your extended friends/family to see the new and existing college buildings and facilities. The P & C Association will have a food stall available and we will also be officially opening Bayliss Park at 10.30am. This school park is in recognition of the original farm who operated here prior to the college being built. Further information on the Community Open Day is available via our website, newsletter and Facebook page.
This term we welcome a number of new staff to our college and say goodbye to one of our foundation staff members, Angela Waugh. Angela has been a foundation Head of Department (HOD) within the IT, Pathways and partnerships portfolio and has been instrumental in helping establish our college. Angela has been successful in obtaining a leadership position with a local external organisation and I wish her all the best in this new role. Mr James Dunn will be acting HOD within this role for Term 2, while we advertise for a replacement. This term we also welcome Mr Daniel Pym as our new Deputy Principal, Mr Jedd Dawson (Science/Math teacher) , Mrs Sky Wang (Science/HPE) and Georgia Mallet (Teacher Aide) to our team. As our enrolment numbers continue to grow we will be adding to our team throughout this year and I look forward to introducing all new staff to you as they come on board.
Once again, thank you for partnering with our college and I look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events.
Yours Sincerely,
