Welcome back to Term 4! Term 4 always seems to fly by and I'm sure it'll feel like no time at all before I'm writing the final newsletter article of the year. 

During Term 4 our cohorts will be studying the following concepts:

Mathematics

Year 7 - Statistics, Probability & Financial Maths

*This includes: different types of data, measures of centre and spread, data representations, sample spaces and best buys.

Year 8 - Measurement & Geometry 

*This includes Area of Parallelograms, Rhombuses and Kites, converting between units of measurement for area, congruent triangles and properties of quadrilaterals.

Year 9 - Measurement & Geometry

*This includes area of combined shapes, surface area and volume of right prisms and cylinders, trigonometry, Pythagoras theorem and similar shapes. 

Science

Year 7 - Earth Sciences

*This includes involving weather, climate and seasons, moon cycles, solar system and galaxy and how Astrology has changed over the decades.

Year 8 - Biology 

*This includes the functionality of cells, organs and body systems. Please be aware that within the body systems, we will also be exploring the reproductive system and concepts around puberty, reproduction, pregnancy and birth for humans and other organisms.

Year 9 -  Earth Sciences

*This includes the concept of global features, geological process, timescales, plate tectonics and continental movements.  

HPE

Year 7 - Healthy Choices & Invasion Games

*This includes topics around Food & Nutrition and students will be engaged in games similar to capture the flag.

Year 8 - Sports Nutrition & European Handball

Year 9 - Healthy Relationships & Netball
