Welcome back for Term 4!
New Staff:
This term we welcome some new members to our team. Ms Jamei-Ann Pertzel joins us in the role of Inclusion Coordinator. She will be coaching teachers and supporting students with access to curriculum and adjustments to assessment. 
We also welcome Ms Tarah Wall to our growing Teacher Aide team. Tarah will be supporting in classes as well as assisting with administration at Student Support Services.
Student Support Services Committee Update
Personalised Learning Plans
Each fortnight the SSS Committee meet to discuss and plan for the substantial needs of students at our school. This Term, we will be reviewing all student Personalised Learning Plans with teaching staff. Their updates and notes will be added to these plans and sent home. If your child has a Personalised Learning Plan, please take the time to go through these with them and comment on any adjustments or supports that are working or not working. Any feedback, email:
Transition Support
It is that time of year where we start planning for the arrival of Year 7's for 2022. This involves the Student Support Services Committee visiting our local primary schools and meeting students. In some cases, we invite students and families to meet with us to make sure their child's plans are comprehensive and they are well looked after for their transition to high school. If you are a new or existing family at Ripley and have a child starting Year 7 in 2022 who has a disability or significant learning support needs, please contact us:
Transitions are not just for students moving into Year 7, they are also for every student. Below is some tips on supporting your child through Year 7-9:

WORKSHOP: Inclusive Classrooms: All children learning together

BRISBANE - CRU Office - 9:30am to 12:30pm

This free workshop will help you become more confident in advocating for your child in the education system. Come along to experience and learn about:

  • What a day in an inclusive classroom looks like
  • The importance of presuming competence
  • Inclusive teaching strategies to maximise participation and achievement - UDL, peer learning and more!
  • What to advocate for and how to advocate for it
  • Tips for achieving a successful partnership with school

Attendance at this workshop will be limited to 18 attendees to ensure that we comply with COVID Safe Plan requirements in place at the venue.
