Congratulations to our eSports teams who have taken out the Ipswich Championship in the Fuse Cup Rocket League Competition last week!  Our two teams went head to head in the grand final with Liam and Makiah taking out the win! The boys won some great prizes and are now off to the state championships in October. Congratulations!

Device "Health Checks" Commencing in week 10

As part of our Device Maintenance schedule, the technical team at Ripley Valley State Secondary College will be collecting student devices between the 13th – 17th September 2021, and completing a ‘health check’ on all devices.

The health check will consist of:

  • Checking for any damages that have not been reported to have fixed via Warranty (where possible), or through Accidental Damage insurance. Excess costs listed below.
  • Checking that students have and are using the required laptop case
  • Checking students have the RVSSC sticker on their laptop, and their laptop is labelled correctly with all required cataloguing stickers still intact.
  • Ensuring device is running at optimal levels, and re-imaging where needed.

As per the laptop agreement, if damage is found on the device or students are missing their RVSSC stickers &/or laptop cases, parents will receive notification of this, damage fixed and lost items replaced. An invoice sent to effected families as per the prices listed below:

Please advise us at tech@ripleyvalleyssc.eq.edu.au if you know that your child will not be at school when their year level is completing their health checks so alternate arrangements can be made. Similarly, if you know of issues with your child’s laptop that has not been reported please advise our team so we can ensure issues are rectified.

Purchase option – Available for year 9 families

The school will be disposing of a number of devices currently being used by the Year 9 students.  Families have the option to make an offer to purchase one of these devices.  The reserve price will be $250.00, the laptop will then be for use at home only. Damages will be fixed as per prices above, and laptops will be factory reset for pick up by families on the last day of term 4 (10th December 2021).

To make an offer Email – administration@ripleyvalleyssc.eq.edu.au with the amount of your offer, (you must also disclose any interests or links with Education Department employees if applicable)

Once purchased from Ripley Valley State Secondary College; technical support and insurance ceases and no warranty is implied or given.   The device is for HOME USE ONLY, and not permitted at school. Students will receive their new laptop (which they will use from year 10-12) within the first few days of school 2022.
