House Co-ordinators
We are approaching midway through Term 3, and how busy it has been! There are specific focuses and activities that have been set for our students this term.
Rewards Day:Our End of Term Rewards Day students will remain on site to celebrate a successful term. Without giving away too much information, students will be engaged in a lot of jumping, running and social interactive activities. The current structure is as follows:
Period 1/2 - Year 7 only
Period 3/4 - Year 8 & 9 only
Whilst year levels are on an alternate program, they will be involved in minor games and activities inside of the Raptor Dome. We have booked an external company to assist in the running/activities set on the day and this will cost all invited attendees $6. Invitation's will come out in Week 6, via Access Teacher's.
For students to be eligible to attend the End of Term 3 Rewards Day, they must meet the following criteria:
- 95% Approved Attendance - all absences have been accounted for by parents/guardians
- Adherence to student representation policy - with viewing from House CO's, House HOD's and House DP's
- Invitations can be reviewed by House HOD's and House DP's.
It is up to the students, parents and/or guardians to be actively monitoring student attendance. This can be seen on the student's Daymap webpage, refer to the image below:
R U Ok Day:
R U OK? is a suicide prevention charity in Australia, encouraging all of us to notice the signs of mental health struggle in friends, family, and colleagues. R U OK? Day is held on the second Thursday in September every year. The work focuses on building the motivation, confidence and skills of the help-giver – the person who can have a meaningful conversation with someone who is struggling with life. Originally, R U OK? Day is celebrated on Thursday, however, we will be celebrating it on Wednesday due to number of students being away from school.
The SRC will plan a day full of activities, recognition's, food and check-ins with their fellow peers and staff members of the college. These will consist of the following:
- Compliment cards
- Cupcake sale
- Painting
- Handball competition
- Musical performance
- ESports competition
- Dodgeball competition
- Capture the flag game

Student Leadership
We are almost at that time of year again where we are planning for our student leadership positions for 2022.
In 2022 our Junior School leaders will come from our Year 9 cohort (current Year 8's). College Captains, College Vice Captains and House Captains will be advertised and listed this term, to be announced at our Term 4 Awards Evening.
Students in other cohorts will of course have the opportunity to apply for leadership positions as well including Student Representative positions that make up part of our Student Representative Council and also our new position of Peer Mentor. These positions will be advertised in Term 4 of this year and also Term 1 of next year to ensure that new students have the option to apply for a position.
Right now we need our current Year 8 students to start thinking about if they would like to apply for a 2022 Junior School leadership position. The application process will be communicated to students and parents over the coming week. Applications will be opened towards the end of term. We will provide coaching and information sessions to all interested students. All year 8 students will participate in an incursion with Ylead in week 9 this term. The program is aimed at helping students identify their own leadership potential.
We look forward to these events with your children at the college.
