Chaplain News
Dear parents/carers
I trust you all have had a restful holidays and are ready for the term ahead.
Fundraising
On the 28th of May we ran our first Colour Run here at RVSSC to raise money for the Chaplaincy Service here at school. I am happy to announce that raised $2591.55. I want to thank everyone for their involvement and the P&C for the support of the event as well as Mr Timothy Barclay who raised the most out of the teachers & 7F who raised the most out of all classes.
Also on the 28th of May there was a Trivia Night fundraiser for us and I am happy to announce that we raised $425 for the chaplaincy service here at RVSSC. I want to thank Springfield Christian Family for allowing us to be apart of it.
Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club will commence again in week 2 and will operate on Tuesdays & Thursdays.
If you want to help out with the Breakfast Club, please don’t hesitate to email me at katki121@eq.edu.au.
Pastoral Care
As a school chaplain, my role is to provide emotional, spiritual and social support to the students and wider school community. One of the ways I provide support is with one-on-one pastoral care conversations. If you would like me to provide support for your child, please email me.
Rock and Water
This term I am planning to run the Rock & Water program with a group of year 8 boys.
Rock and Water is a program that decreases bullying and depressive feelings, and increases self-esteem, self-regulation and social acceptance. It also builds self-confidence, self-respect and self-reflection through psychophysical training.
If you think this is something that your child could benefit from, please email me.
Take care
