English, Humanities & Languages
This term we would like to welcome two new staff members to our English and Humanities team; Miss Champs and Miss Parish. We are excited to have such experienced and enthusiastic staff joining our team.
As well as the changes to electives this semester, there have been a number of changes to English timetables as a result of staff leaving, and new staff beginning. These changes have been made to ensure we are making the most of the expertise and experience in the English and Humanities faculties. If you have any concerns regarding changes, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher or myself.
We are continuing to promote reading this term with RVSSC participating as a school in The Premier’s Reading Challenge. Our school has access to the online library SORA, where students can borrow digital novels, graphic novels and non-fiction texts in the form of digital books, as well as audio books. Participating in The Premier’s Reading Challenge can include reading, or being read to, alone, in pairs or groups, or whole classes. Please encourage your children to read and make note of the titles they read so that they can be counted in our school reading tally.
