Focus of the Fortnight
Our positive College culture is supported by the College Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework.  Each fortnight we focus on one of the College values of Respect, Responsibility and Perseverance.  This fortnight the focus is: I can persevere to succeed through practising mindfulness.  During parade this week I spoke to the students about the power of a positive mindset and giving 100% effort to the task that they are working on.  I also spoke about the importance of time management and keeping a to-do list in their student diary to improve time management.  Students will learn more about mindfulness by completing a range of engaging activities during Access Class over the next couple of weeks.
Positive College Behaviour
We have a high expectations culture and this is reflected in our behaviour data which last Term saw over 97% of students with between 0 and 2 major behaviour incidents. At the end of Week 1 of this Term, students attended a Rewards Afternoon to recognise their high attendance.  This Term, students will attend a rewards afternoon at Sky Zone in Week 10 in recognition of students with high attendance and positive behaviour.  In Term 4, students will be eligible to receive a Gold, Silver or Bronze Raptor Award depending on their level of achievement.  The Raptor Awards are a holistic award that takes into account student academic achievement, attendance, behaviour and contribution to College culture through participation in extra curricular activities.
