Welcome back to all of the RVSSC community for the start of Term 2. I hope that everyone had a restful and rejuvenating break. This term we are excited to introduce a new teacher to our college community, Miss Mary Mahipus. Mary will predominately teach Mathematics this year to Year 7, 8 and 9 . We are so excited to have her join our team.
What's happening in the Maths, Science and HPE world?
- Cross Country carnival is happening on the Friday of Week 1. James Dunn and his team are excited for this event and keen to source our Ripley Valley team to represent our school at the Central Comets carnival. A huge thank you goes out to James for the huge amount of work that goes into making these carnivals and all of the sport happen at RVSSC.
- Athletics Carnival will also be happening this term. This carnival will be held during week 10 of the term.
- Y8 Mathematics Enrichment - students are now in new Math Enrichment groupings and have had a great start to the term in these groups. We are excited for the opportunity that these additional numeracy lessons bring. These lessons are designed to best support our students to develop their numeracy skills and fill in any missing gaps. These essential numeracy skills underpin everything that we do within the Mathematics curriculum but we don't always have the time to teach these skills or misconceptions.
