Deputy Principal - Culture and Development
Welcome back to Term 2. On Wednesday this week we held our College Anzac Day Service in the College Sports Hall (Raptor Dome). A number of local politicians and Councillors joined us for the Service. Thank you to Flight Lieutenant Luke Moran from 33 Squadron Amberley Air Base who delivered the commemorative address and shared his thoughts on the significance of Anzac Day. College Principal, Brendan Krueger unveiled a metal sculpture to mark 100 years of Air Force Service in Australia. Thank you to Adam Regnart for playing the bag pipes as wreaths were being laid at the base of the metal sculpture. Thank you also to Padre Stephen Thomas from the Australian Army for sharing a prayer on behalf of the College. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our invited guests, parents and community members for joining us for the Service.
Year 9 and 10 Expression of Interest Subject Preference Survey
We are currently in the process of determining subjects offerings for students commencing Year 9 and Year 10 in 2022. Over coming weeks these students will complete a short survey during their Access Class. During the survey, students will be asked to indicate which subjects they are interested in studying. The data gathered in this survey will provide us with valuable information to inform our curriculum planning for 2022. Students will complete their actual Subject Selections at the start of Term 3.
Uniform
During Parade this week I reminded students about uniform expectations as the weather is getting cooler. There is a winter uniform available for purchase from the College Uniform shop including jumpers, spray jackets and pants which all display the College logo. Students are not permitted to wear clothing which is not part of the College uniform. Additionally, students are required to wear their House Shirt on Wednesdays. This has been a great way for us to build a strong sense of spirit amongst the Houses.
I look forward to providing you with another update later this Term.
