Laptop Program
SRS
Please ensure SRS fees have been paid for 2020, to ensure your child is able to keep their laptops over the Christmas break. Emails will be sent home to families with outstanding amounts over the coming days. If you are unable to make payment or need further assistance please contact bsm@ripleyvalleyssc.eq.edu.au urgently.
CHRISTMAS BREAK
Students who's SRS fees are up to date will be able to take their laptops home over the Christmas period. We are able to remove the gaming filtering on the laptops (on parent request) over this period. This would give student access to online games. We are unable to install ROBLOX or any other game that requires installation.
If you would like us to remove this ban for your child from the 10th December please email tech@ripleyvalleyssc.eq.edu.au.
Filtering of gaming will resume on the 22nd January 2020.
eSports
Our eSports team have been enjoying training and learning some new skills and strategies in their game of choice.
Our Smash Bros team competed in an online tournament on Wednesday 28th November, and will compete each week until the beginning of December. Students are able to play hundreds of other school teams, and strategy is the key in this competition.
Coding and Robotics Club
In partnership with Junior Engineers we are introducing a Coding and Robotics club for all interested students this term. This will be an after school activity, and will extend students who are interested in programming and robotics. The workshop will run for 5 weeks, commencing on Wednesday 4th November and will cost $255 which includes a robotics kit that students will get to keep. Register ASAP if you would like to be involved.
