Science
Welcome to term 4 for science!
This term our Year 7 students explain how biological diversity is ordered and organised. They represent flows of matter and energy in ecosystems and predict the effects of environmental changes. They have an exam in Week 8.
Year 8's will compare different forms of energy and represent transfer and transformation of energy in simple systems. They will be assessed on an Experimental Investigation due in Week 7.
Year 9's will describe how the processes of sexual and asexual reproduction enable survival of the species. They have a Research Investigation due in Week 7.
Year 10 biology, chemistry and physics will experience their first exam block this term. Year 10 Applied Science are analysing data about climate change, while year 10 psychology will be conducting memory experiments on other classes
Year 11 biology students off to Jacob's Well in week 5 for their mandatory fieldwork impacting their Year 12 summative assessments; please ensure you have submitted permission and payments. Students will survey abiotic and biotic factors in different locations to determine the effect abiotic factors have on organism numbers. Keep an eye out in the next newsletter for some great pictures from the term.
Our Year 12 Bio, Chem, Physics and Psych students have performed incredibly well this year compared to state averages, and we wish them well in their upcoming External Exams.
