Deputy Principal - Teaching and Learning
Semester One Report Cards
Semester One Report Cards will be issued via email to all parents/carers on the last day of Term 2 (Friday 27th June). These report cards will contain a cumulative result based upon all summative assessment completed across Terms 1 and 2. Teachers will also provide a Behaviour, Effort and Homework result for your student.
These will be sent via an automated email from the information stored on One School. If there have been changes to your active email address, please update your details with our Administration Staff administration@ripleyvalleyssc.eq.edu.au to ensure you receive your child's report.
Please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions about the Semester 1 Report Card.
Parent Teacher Interviews
Parent Teacher Interviews will be held on Tuesday 29th July from 12:00pm - 7:00pm in the Performing Arts Centre (PAC). Bookings for these interviews will open early in Term 3 to ensure you are able to meet with your student's Semester 2 teachers. All bookings are made via the Daymap Parent Connect Portal.
Tuesday 29th July is a non-curriculum day with no timetabled classes in operation.
If you are unable to make suitable arrangements for your student, supervision will be provided by Teacher Aides for students to engage in independent study in the Library for the day.
The commencement of Semester 2 sees a large number of subject changes, as your student moves on to their second Elective offering for the year.
The Parent Teacher Interviews are a great way to meet your student's new teachers early on in their new electives.
Year 9 PPP Meetings
A reminder to Year 9 Parents/Carers that our Pathways Preparation Plan (PPP) Meetings are being held on the same day as Parent Teacher Interviews in the PAC.
This is an opportunity for you and your students to discuss their pathway options for Senior Schooling and receive individual advice from a member of our College Leadership Team.
This is a non-curriculum day for all students, to enable our Year 9 students to attend their PPP Meeting with their parent/carers.
Bookings are available from 8:00am until 7:00pm on Tuesday 29th July.
Updates to School Road Walkway
An increasing number of students have been waiting in the School Road area between the Primary and Secondary Schools to collect their younger siblings from the Primary School. This is creating a congested area which prevents safe access to the Bus Zones and Primary School Bike Racks after school.
From the beginning of Semester 2, students will not be permitted to wait in the School Road area and will need to walk to the designated pick-up zone at the top of Ripley Valley State School. Our school finish time is 2:45pm to allow students 15 minutes to make their way to the Primary school prior to the 3:00pm bell.
High School students travelling on buses will continue to wait in Foundation Park until their bus arrives. Primary School students are supervised by staff at the bus stop and older siblings are not required to supervise them. The only high school students waiting at the bus stop will be those travelling on the 2:55pm services.
