New GP in Schools Provider – Supporting Student Health & Well-being
We’re excited to announce a new provider for our GP in Schools program! From Tuesday, 18th March, Shane Hourihan, a Nurse Practitioner, will be offering healthcare services to students right here on campus.
What is a Nurse Practitioner?
Nurse Practitioners are highly trained healthcare professionals with a master’s-level qualification. They can prescribe medication, provide medical advice, write referrals, and offer care equivalent to a doctor. This means students will continue to receive high-quality medical support at school, ensuring their well-being remains a priority.

UCAT ANZ 2025 Registration opened on the 4th of March 2025
The information below was sourced from https://www.nie.edu.au/
Students considering a career in medicine or dentistry, during Year 12 will need to sit a compulsory entry exam known as the UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) before they can apply for relevant placements in the aforementioned fields of study within most universities within Australia.
The UCAT ANZ is a compulsory entry requirement for our Australia and New Zealand Consortium universities. You are required to sit the UCAT ANZ 2025 test (between 1 July and 5 August 2025) if you are intending to apply for entry in 2026 to a relevant course or programme listed below. UCAT ANZ results cannot be carried over from one year to the next. For example, results from UCAT ANZ 2025 can only be used to apply for courses commencing in 2026.
Some pathways to medicine/dentistry/clinical sciences will not require the UCAT ANZ, or might have additional requirements. For example, Casper Test is an extra requirement in addition to UCAT for Curtin University (medicine). Or Psychometric Test is used instead of the UCAT for entry into Bond University (medicine). For some applicants, a different test may be required. For example, international students might need to sit ISAT instead of UCAT. And some universities might accept UCAT instead of ISAT when applying to medical schools as an international student. Students should always check the entry requirements for each university and course they are intending to apply for. There are no general exemptions from the test.
Universities that offer Undergraduate Medicine without the requirement for UCAT are:
James Cook University (Medicine & Dentistry) - the selection is based on ATAR, Letters of support for dentistry only, written application for dentistry only, and Interview for medicine only.
Bond University (Medicine) - the selection is based on ATAR, Bond Psychometric Test, Interview.
University of Sydney (Medicine double degree) - an ATAR of 99.95 or equivalent is required. An assessment process including a written assessment followed by a panel discussion.
La Trobe University (Rural medicine pathway and dentistry) - The selection is based on ATAR and interviews for medicine only.
The first time a candidate is eligible to sit the UCAT is during their final year of school, that is, Year 12 (in Australia). Candidates can repeat the UCAT yearly. The UCAT is held once a year.
UCAT ANZ 2025 Key Dates

Who is eligible to sit the UCAT?
The UCAT ANZ test is only available to a candidate whose educational level at the time of sitting the test is that they are undertaking or have completed the final year of secondary schooling, or higher. For example, candidates registering for UCAT ANZ 2025 should have completed, or plan to complete their final year of secondary schooling in 2025, that is, Year 12 in Australia or Year 13 in New Zealand.
Candidates are eligible to sit UCAT ANZ if they have commenced or completed an undergraduate degree.
It is noted, however, that not all undergraduate degree programs for which UCAT ANZ is a prerequisite will offer places for non-school leavers. Candidates are advised to check the UCAT ANZ Consortium university websites for further information.
Only a limited number of UCAT ANZ Consortium universities require international students to sit UCAT ANZ and, if so, it will only be required in specific circumstances. Candidates are advised to check the UCAT ANZ Consortium university websites for further information.
