Health
Welcome back Ripley Valley Students and Families,
We hope everyone has enjoyed a restful break and you are ready for another big year.
It has been great having students back on campus and meeting the new faces to our school who will hopefully be involved in all thing's health throughout the year!
I would also like to welcome to the Health Department our four new staff members.
Mr Stephensen re-joins us permanently after being here on his pracs throughout university. Mr Stephensen has a vast background in Rugby League and is looking forward to getting involved with coaching throughout the year.
Ms Pollard joins both the HPE and Food Studies teams with a Sport and Exercise background she will be involved in many things throughout the year.
Ms Kennedy joins the HPE team from The Gap SHS with extensive experience in the Futsal/Football realm to boost the Football Excellence Program at Ripley.
Ms Jones joins the Food Studies team as a beginning teacher with a passion for engaging students in the Food Studies realm.
I am very excited to have our new staff members on board and we look forward to utilising their skills and expertise to promote health to all of our students throughout the year.
Along with our new staff, we are also delighted to have 2 new Health subjects for our students to study at Ripley Valley. This year we have the first lot of year 11 Sport and Recreation classes with a total of 4 classes. We also have our first 2 classes of year 10 advanced HPE who will hopefully filter into a new year 11 subject in 2026 being offered - Senior Physical Education.
Please be reminded that all students are required to have a hat and water bottle for HPE lessons as well as at lunch time if they wish to play on the oval or outdoor courts. We are very conscious of how hot it has been and wish to ensure all students are prepared for class so they can be sun safe at this incredibly hot time of year. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me on the information found below.
Have a great first term.
