Term 4 is powering ahead and it is wonderful to see the diverse range of classroom teaching and learning across our different year levels and faculties. One of the great privileges of my role is that I get to spend lots of time in different classrooms observing and working with students and teachers. There is always something new to learn!

Our literacy and numeracy enrichment classes are half-way through their programs now and have been exploring a range of hands-on learning activities to support development in their English and Mathematic skills.

Our literacy class this week was presented with a jumbled sentence and each group had to sort it into a chain that made sense. Each group was able to find different combinations of adjectives and nouns to create a different description.

Our numeracy class was using concrete materials to consolidate number skills. This week’s challenge was an escape room with a series of puzzles. The students rose to the occasion, and they escaped with 10 minutes to spare where they could enjoy their zooper dooper prize.
