Deputy Principal - Culture and Engagement
Week 5 is upon us the end of the Year is well and truly in sight. Already the Term has been a whirlwind of activity and events including: Awards Evening, Showcase, Mental Health Week, and World Teachers’ Day. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the students who received accolades on our Awards Night, and commend the amazing talent of those students who performed at Showcase. I would also like to acknowledge students who were recently inducted into the Student Representative Council (SRC) for 2025. I look forward to officially celebrating them all at our Student Investiture Ceremony in Term 1 next year. Finally, I would like to thank the many students who assisted with the recent School Tours as part of our Enrolment Information Evening for new students. You were all wonderful ambassadors of the College, and the feedback we received from visiting parents is always so positive. Other noteworthy events and developments include:
Online Rewards Vault
This term saw the expansion of the Online Rewards Vault for Students in Years 7 - 9. In addition to the physical Rewards Vault which students can access in the Library, all students will now have the opportunity to spend their Ripley Rewards Points at the Online Vault which is supported through Schoolzine. Students can identify how many points they have in Daymap and can access the Schoolzine form on the Student SharePoint or School Website. Students are still encouraged to head into the Library to spend their points as this is the fastest way to redeem their rewards. Several items are currently available in the store, including: chocolates and lollies, gift vouchers, sporting equipment, and even some big-ticket items such as iPads and store gift vouchers.
Excellence Morning Tea
Earlier this Term we celebrated our final Excellence Morning Tea for 2024. The focus of this Term was most improved academic achievement over the year. It was lovely to share this moment with the families of those students who have made such impressive progress through their hard work, perseverance and dedication.
World Teachers’ Day
On the 25th of October, the College celebrated World Teachers’ Day with a special lunch provided by members of the Renew Baptist Church. Our wonderful staff were also treated to a gift card from Yamanto Zarraffa’s, as well as individual compliments cards written by students at the College. Thank you to all of our staff who make this school the amazing place that it is!
Wet ‘n Wild Rewards Day Excursion
This term, students who have consistently demonstrated our school values of respect, responsibility and perseverance will be invited on our celebratory end of year rewards day excursion. To be eligible, students must have submitted an application confirming that they have maintained at least a 95% approved attendance rate, submitted all assessments and received no more than two admin detentions in Term 4.
Applications will be collated and crosschecked in Week 6, with invitations being emailed out in Week 7. Places in this highly anticipated excursion will be limited, so please complete the permission note and return payment as soon as possible to secure your child’s attendance.
