YEAR 10 WORK EXPERIENCE
In just a few week's time our Year 10 students will all be out in the workforce getting to experience various industries to help determine their future pathways. We know every student will demonstrate our core values of effort, respect and responsibility during this experience and will use the opportunity to ask questions, try new skills, and make the decision if that is the pathway they wish to pursue. Placements are currently being finalised. If you have any questions about this week, please email pathways@ripleyvalleyssc.eq.edu.au or call through on 07 3819 5333 to speak with Marney George.
TAFE TRADE TASTERS
TAFE are offering a number of trade & skill taster events across Semester 2 for eligible Year 10 students. These programs require students to attend TAFE one day per week to participate in various programs including agriculture, cosmetics, hairdressing, health, kitchen operations and more. Students are encouraged to see Mrs Marney George in our Careers Hub for more information. There will also be a week-long trade taster offered at WesTEC in Week 10 of Term 3 for students not participating in Year 10 camp with more information available later next term.
HEADSTART PROGRAMS
I am very excited to announce that we have 10 students across Years 10-12 signed up to complete headstart programs through the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) and Queensland University of Technology (QUT). We have already had two of our Year 12's successfully complete programs through UniSQ and currently have a Year 11 student working with the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) on their headstart program as well. It's great to not only see the number of students choosing
