All students are invited to Japan Club on Thursdays, during Weeks 3 to 8 after school from 3 to 4pm.

The Year 8 Japanese students have been sensei each week in groups. They have developed their communication skills by team building and knowing the unit’s content about time and calendar events before they create and teach activities to the class. By all accounts and reactions by the students themselves, this has been very successful! The singing contest was won by a group of energetic boys!

Our Year 7 Japanese students have been sharing their research about culture, language, geography and food in Japan. They enjoyed learning about kodomi no hi (Children’s Day) which is celebrated in Japan annually on the 5th May.

The Education Perfect Languages Championship 2024 from the 7th-14th May allowed any student from RVSSC to participate in their chosen language, with thousands of students across the globe participating.

119 students from Ripley participated in the competition and they gained 59,162 points! The highest result is an Elite, which is the first time a student has received Elite for the school. We congratulate all the students on this amazing effort, as well as all the Japanese learners!
